How does Veteran Angler Charters fund these trips?

Veteran Angler Charters relies on the generosity of individual donors, corporate sponsorship, and fund raising events to support our trips.

How do I book a trip with Veteran Angler Charters?

You can contact us directly through this website, or the head of your veteran organization may contact us if you have a group that would like to go out. Please be advised that we will need a copy of your DD214 as proof of your discharge status. Disabled Veterans possessing an honorable discharge are eligible to participate.

How many people can go?

Depending on the boat, 4 to 6 passengers plus crew. Veteran Angler Charters reserves the right to decide how many passengers will be allowed on any trip.

Are there costs for the veterans to go on these trips?

Our fundraising efforts are the foundation that allow us to provide our services at no cost to the veteran.

What should I bring on the trip?

All you need to bring is yourself and something to eat and drink. We strongly recommend sunscreen and a hat as well. We will provide all gear, bait, and tackle.

Do I need to get a fishing license?

The permits that the individual charter boats hold cover the passengers while on the charter fishing trip.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my trip?
Severe weather is a serious safety issue while on the water, and we put the safety of our passengers first. Trips will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather, rough sea conditions, storm warnings or mechanical problems. The decision to postpone, if necessary, will be made anywhere from 2 days to 3 hours before departure. If the weather deteriorates during a trip, the captain will head back to the dock.

How long do the trips normally last?

Most trips last between 4-5 hours.

Can I keep the fish I catch?

Yes! You may keep your catch as long as your fish meets applicable regulations for minimum and maximum length and doesn’t exceed legal quantities. Any fish you keep will be cleaned and bagged for you to bring home.

What happens if I get seasick on the trip?
Some passengers prefer to stick it out; others will prefer to go in. The captain will allow you to make the decision unless he/she feels it is in your best interest to return to the dock

Can I go fishing with Veteran Angler Charters more than once?

Generally, eligible individuals are allowed to take one trip per year with Veteran Angler Charters. This ensures that all eligible veterans desiring to fish with us can be accommodated. However, high demand for trips in any given area may result in longer waits in between trips.
